New terror leader appointed in Dagestan

The Interior Ministry of Dagestan has published a profile of Rustam Aselderov, a 30-year old from Kalmykia, appointed by Doku Umarov, the self-styled Amir of Dagestani Emirate, as the new terrorist militant leader of the region.

The previous terrorist militant leader, Ibragimhalil Daudov, was killed on February 14 this year. Daudov became the terror militant chief after the death of Magomedali Vagabov in August 2010.

Aselderov, nicknamed Muhamadmukhtar, was the leader of the Kadarskaya Group. He was tried for storage of guns and support of terrorists militants in 2007 and was freed by the jury. He is responsible for racketeering, arsons and bombings, attacks on police officers, the murder of five hunters at the Karabudakhkentsky District and murder of four men in a forest at the Buynaksky District. He is capable of any violence.
