Critically injured Altaf Hossain alias Sagar, 38, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at about 2:45am, hospital sources said.
As his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagor.
Hospital sources said two bullets entered his throat and shoulder.
