Fort Hood suspect may be 'forcibly shaved' before trial
2012-07-26
The military judge who will oversee the trial of the man accused in the 2009 Fort Hood massacre ruled Wednesday that if Maj. Nidal Hasan doesn't shave by the start of jury selection, he will be forcibly shaved. During a pretrial hearing Wednesday, the judge ruled the defendant in contempt of court and fined him $1,000.

#15  Can't he be demoted to Private for not following orders?

Nope. He has a commission by act of Congress. By law the commission can only be negated by resignation or by conviction. Don't recall Congress voiding such a commission previously, so 'ex post facto' Constitutional restrictions may apply if attempted now.

#14  Correct me iff I'm wrong, but AFAIK "Dry shaving" is still on the books - right now, the Army is willing be nice via forcibly shaving him using traditional lotion, water, + foam, but iff he continues to resist, they'll forcibly dry shave him [blade only] for his shennanigans???

#5  Yes, I know it will make many a reader puke, but..in accordance with 'due process', until he's convicted and normal appeals are exhausted, he still is receiving all pays and allowances.

The fact he was allowed to enter the Army in the first place, then be commissioned, now that is SICKENING!

If you'd like to see a Nidal Hasan program on steroids, have a look at the Taliban infiltrators (yes infiltrators) in the Afghan National Army and Police Force. Of course, much like Nidal Hasan, we do not call them "infiltrators" or terrorists but rather.... "disaffected personnel".

At the confinement facility at Ft. Leavenworth, they have trustee inmate training to include barber school. There are qualified uniformed personnel to administer the cut.

#1  But wouldn't that violate his Constitutional Rights? Won't his gallant public defender protect him? Or kill two birds with a demand for an immediate dismissal?
