| Tensions prevail in Afmadow, south Somalia |

| (Sh.M.Network)- Tense of fighting and military exercises are reportedly rose on Saturday in parts of Somalia's Lower Jubba region as both Somali and Kenya army make more advances againts bad turban strongholds. Locals in Afmadow town, 620 Km south of Mogadishu said that heavily armed Somali soldiers together with Kenyan military have moved this morning to rebel-held areas near Afmadow where is now under Al shabab control. The situation is tense as Al shabab agents begun intensifying their defensive drills around Afmadow town in a bid to protect the coalition forces from capturing their base. Kenyan has sent last year troops and tanks into the neighboring war-tornSomaliato pursue Al shabab, whom Nairobi blames for the growing insecurity in its soil. |
