#9  If you take election politics out of the decision, then you are left with a fight between Big Oil and Big Green. Obama is all that is left between the green industry and cheap oil, and even cheaper gas.

Within four years, Canada Oil Sands production will be in the order of 4mil barrels per day. The current oil pipeline is capable of 1mil bpd. The Keystone pipe is also required to service the Bakken fields in North Dakota, but it will only take 1mil bpd additional. Eventually Keystone will get built. There is too much money involved not to. But it will spell the end of the green reneweable dream.

The balance of 3mil bpd will end up in China no matter what happens to Keystone. And Canada will not be complaining as every barrel delivered to the west coast is worth 15% more that any delivered to Texas. The difference is the world price vs the West Texas Crude pricing. That value is not trivial, as within 5 years that differential could amount to 13-14% of all Canadian government revenue.

Within 5 years, Canada will be the 4th or 5th largest oil producer in the world, with a population of only 35 million.

#4  Check out the last minute or so where it shows the Ogalala (whatever) Aquifer, and how many times it is criss-crossed by old oil pipes.

Obvious political BS that pathetically puts his election ahead of US interests.

Also, a replay of Obrother's campaign promise to get us off US and Venezuelan oil within 10 years of his election.
