Barak flies to Greece in bid to boost bilateral ties |
2012-01-11 |
Fallow up on yesterday's Spengler Defense Minister Ehud Barak flew to Athens on Tuesday and said that Israel was looking to boost military and economic cooperation with Greece. Israel’s ties with Greece have been on the rise since the fallout with Turkey in 2010 after the Navy raid on the Mavi Marmara which resulted in the deaths of nine Turkish nationals who had attacked the Israeli commandos. The Hellenic and Israeli air forces recently held a series of joint exercises – in Greece and Israel - amid bolstering economic ties. |

#8 I've read that most of the recent loans given to Greece have been spent on Defense. Surely if the European Union has to have any meaning, it should have a Central i.e Federal type Defense Dept. That DD should be centrally controlled and FUNDED and not rely on individual states like Greece to face off against that Muslim menace facing Europe. |

#6 If President OpaqueAdministration wore heels, it wouldn't be for a good reason. Unless that reason got him ejected from office. This is going to Tweak the Turks. But then again, everything does. And hopefully Greece won't sell Israeli secrets to China after their economy collapses. |
