1 MW E-Cat Cold Fusion Device Test Successful
2011-10-29
Scam or breakthrough?
On October 28, 2011, Andrea Rossi demonstrated his 1 megawatt E-Cat system to his first customer, who had engineers/scientists on hand to test/validate its performance. Due to a glitch, it provided 470 kW of continuous power for 5.5 hours during the self-sustained mode.

#6  Snowy thank you for the reality check. So many slickers today. When it comes to spending money that's when I give things the evil eye. I still enjoy the excitement of the challenge. To participate would be even better.

#5  If he _really_ wanted to _prove_ to the general public that he had something, with a setup that an actual third-party observer instead of some unnamed company's "top men" could use to prove it's generating energy on its own, _and he had a device that did what he claimed_, he could.

#4  IMHO: Scam.

Why? He keeps changing manufacturing partners and blaming them for being scam artists, BUT still wants us to believe that he's credible and pure as the driven snow, etc...

When enough _details_ reach the public instead of "the new partner corporation that's working for us and whose nameless Top Men are now satisfied it's not a hoax" this'll turn out to be a hoax too.

This "customer" he keeps talking about is his partner in a two-man scam.

He says he's proven everything to the satisfaction of his "customer" and that therefore _I_ and other skeptics should shut up. Even though the identity of the customer/production partner is being kept secret, and he's disavowed his previous two production partners of this sort.

#3  Impressive. Reminds me of computers when they first started out. Big and bulky. Great science project for high school science fair. They don't have to build one but some might get very close. They did with computers.

#2  Scam or breakthrough?

We'll know when the check clears.

#1  I've read most of the published LENR papers and there is definitely a real energy generating phenomena.

Whether Rossi has sucesfully commercialized it is a whole other matter.
