Policeman shot in southern Thailand |

A police officer was injured after a gunfight with two suspected Pol Sgt Eakarin Sangsawang was driving his motorcycle to work in the evening when two men on a motorcycle followed him. The officer sped up when he knew he was being persued. He told investigators he tried to flee but the pillion rider on the other motorcycle fired shots at him from behind. He returned fire and the attackers fled the scene. Eakarin managed to ride his motorcycle to a local hospital despite his injury. Doctors said the wound was not life-threatening. Eakarin dressed in plain clothes but was riding on a police motorcycle at the time of the attack. |
