All in the [Muslim] Family: TLC filming new reality show in Dearborn, MI
2011-07-23
TLC examines the experiences of Muslims in post-9/11 America in a new series set to bow in November. "All-American Muslim" follows five families in Dearborn, Michigan, home to a large Muslim-American population as well as the biggest mosque in the United States. TLC has ordered eight 30-minute episodes.

The TLC announcement comes on the heels of another reality series about the lives of Arab Americans: Bravo's "The Shahs of Sunset", about a tight-knit community of wealthy Persian Americans living in Los Angeles. The show, from Ryan Seacrest Productions is currently in development.
At which point howls will arise from the insulted Iranian-American community, who wish all to know they are absolutely, positively not Arabs -- they are civilized, by golly. Nor do they like being called Persians, which besides being true of only some of them, is apparently as archaic as calling Jews Hebrews or Israelites.
I take it 'Medes' is right out...

Frank, 26 years in The Well Fair Deep Art Mint sez I should give you oddz on the number of loopholes they'll find for cash aid, food stamps (we call'm Cal Fresh here in the failed state) and medical assistance.

In other words, they'll keep their boodle. And we won't have a clue cuz their case is confidential.

#4  Dearborn? Why didn't they just film it in Riyadh?

Location shooting is cheaper in Dearborn.
