Obama nominates Meek to UN position
2011-07-13
Former South Florida Congressman Kendrick Meek has been nominated by President Obama as a public delegate to the UN General Assembly. Meek's role will be to support our UN ambassador, Susan Rice, in her mission to foster world peace.
But that mission is going so well, why would she need such *ahem* expert help?
Meek was crushed defeated in last year's Senate race by Marco Rubio.

Meek said, "There's a lot going on the world. Turn on the news. You can go forever with what's going on in Afghanistan, with what's going on in Haiti."

"Dealing with issues such as hunger, world peace, what's left of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I'm pretty sure that will be a big distraction discussion." he added.

#3  Just the type of young man the United Nations is looking for.

Wiki:
Meek was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on November 5, 2002, succeeding his mother, Congresswoman Carrie Meek, who retired from the seat. In Meek's four elections to the U.S. House of Representatives, no Republican or third-party candidate has been listed on the general election ballot running against him. He has had write-in opponents in three of the four elections and also had a Democratic primary opponent in 2006.
