| North Korea has nearly completed the construction of a sprawling naval base near the sea border with South Korea, a facility capable of housing about 60 air-cushioned vessels that could be used for infiltration attacks. South Korea has spotted air-cushioned vessels and apparent hangars at the naval base that has been under construction in Goampo in the Hwanghae province. The base is around 50 km from South Korea's northernmost island of Baengnyeong. |
