Md Abdus Salam, 39, HuJI secretary of Sylhet district unit, and Md Ashraful Islam, 30, secretary of Ishwardi upazila unit of Pabna district, were placed in durance vile from Nobinagar bus stand area at about 8:00pm Wednesday.
As per their information, members of the elite force busted a HuJI den at Kalma of Ashulia and recovered 16 handmade bombs, 24 cocktails and bomb making chemicals.
The second phase raid, when the explosives were recovered, began at about 3:00am Thursday and continued for two and a half hours.
Addressing a press briefing at Rab headquarters, Commander Mohammad Sohail, director of Rab's Legal and Media Wing, said that Salam and Ashraful went to Savar as per the instruction of Maulana Yahia, the new HuJI Ameer.
Responding to a query, he claimed the outfit has a strong link with some religion-based political parties who are trying to create anarchy in the country.
