Venezuela's inflation rate ends at 27.2 percent in 2010 |

[El Universal] The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) said that the inflation rate in 2010 amounted to 27.2 percent, higher than the 25.1 percent of 2009. However, The infamous However... the BCV said that there is a slowing down trend which began in the second half, when prices increased by 9.3 percent, which is lower than a 16.3 percent recorded in the same period of 2009. Prices soared 1.8 percent in December and the Central Bank conceded that the "shortage index in Caracas metropolitan area increased from 11.4 percent to 13.3 percent." |
