Eight terrorists killed in the region of Jijel |

[Ennahar] Eight cut-throats were killed Saturday in Jijel, some 300 km east of Algiers, during two separate operations of the army, reported Sunday Algerian newspapers. Six cut-throats were killed in an ambush by soldiers to an gang in the mountainous and forested El Aouana, 15 km west of Jijel, said the Algerian press. The operation was launched after security forces were informed of the presence of an gang in the mountains, snow and cold have forced the cut-throats to leave their shelter, said the daily El Watan. The two other cut-throats were killed in a similar operation in neighboring Chekfa, sources said. In early December, at least twelve armed cut-throats were killed in a massive operation against Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) in Kabylia (east), according to the Algerian press. This operation, which continues, is conducted with heavy equipment and helicopter support. |
