"It would be an abiding shame that a 74-year-old general living a retired life manipulating the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan results in the defeat of America."
Gen. Hamid Gull's name appears in about 10 of 180 US diplomatic cables that accuse ISI of supporting Afghan snuffies fighting Nato forces.

some Afghan analysts said Pakistain's spy organisation have always cooperated with the Taliban. They said Pakistain has always sought its interests in a destabilised Afghanistan.
"Still the former head of ISI is involved in these activities and he still has his influence over the Pakistain's military intelligence organisation. They are widely engaged in training and supporting Islamic fascisti who then are sent to Afghanistan," said Noorulhaq Olumi, an Afghan MP.
