8 Die in Northern Mexico
Eight individuals were murdered in ongoing drug and gang related violence in northern Mexico including a Unitary Police agent shot to death in Juarez Friday night.
- A Unitary Police agent was shot to death Friday night, say Mexican news reports. Salvador Muñoz Sias was shot by armed suspects who were riding aboard a Ford Ranger pickup truck and a Nissan Altima sedan on Calle Los Portales.
- An unidentified woman was found beaten to death in Juarez Friday night, according to Mexican press reports. The victim was found on the sidewalk near a residence on the corner of calles 27 and Nueva España.
- An inmate at a Juarez prison was stabbed to death Sunday, say Mexican press accounts. Miguel Angel Galindo Odilon, 28, was killed in the Centro de Readaptacion Social (CERESO) in an area occupied by the Los Mexiclan prison gang, Area 3, Cell 11. Reports say Monico Aguirre Carrion is being charged in the incident. Galindo Odilon was in prison for ten days for kidnapping when he was killed.
- A husband and wife were stabbed to death in a prison in Torreon, Coahuila, say Mexican press accounts. Rodolfo Ismael Hernandez Ledezma, 40, alias El Popo and Herminia Garcia Salazar, alias La Mimi, 35, were found dead in a common area of the Centro de Readaptacion Social (CERESO) Saturday afternooon. Both victims were sent to prison for kidnapping.

- Two men were shot to death in Parral, Chihuahua Friday night, according to Mexican news accounts. Damien Peña Chavez, 40, and Antonio Meraz Diaz 30 were shot aboard a Chevrolet pickup near the intersection of calles De la Paz and Alvaro Obregon at about 2030 hrs by armed suspects using an AK-47 assault rifle and a .38 Super pistol.
- An unidentified man was shot to death Saturday night in Juarez, say Mexican news accounts. The victim had been shooting hoops on calle Isla Santo Domingo in the Guadalajara Izquierda colony when he was pursued by armed suspects. The victim was hit by shots near the intersection of calles Cozumel and Nipon.
