| Al-Qaeda Claims Responsibility for September 13 LNG Attack in Video Tape |

| [Yemen Post] On nearly 31-minute long video tape, posted on the Jihadist Websites on Friday, a group fighters of the Yemen-based Al-Qaeda grabbed credit for September 13 bomb attack of a pipeline transferring liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Yemeni Marib province to Shabwa province in the south of the country. The company later confirmed in a statement that its key pipeline was damaged in Shabwa province on September 13. The September 13's kaboom caused huge fire and smoke as the pipeline was badly damaged, cutting off the LNG supply, some rustics in the area told the Yemen Post. Jihadist websites, broadcast about 31-minutes of the tape, analysts said the website aired what was newsworthy and relevant and declined the included threats Al-Qaeda always aired. Tribal leaders are refusing to hand over Al-Qaeda operatives something they say handing over local Al-Qaeda operatives and their spiritual leader, Anwar Al-Awlaki, would be an offence the tribal norms. Sheikhs of Yemen's most important tribes criticize what Al-Qaeda are doing, but say once they find some one from Al-Qaeda he neither deserve liberty nor security. |
