(KUNA) -- Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, security services carried out campaigns of mass arrests in the ranks of the Fatah movement to prevent commemorating the sixth anniversary of late President Yasser Arafat on Friday.
They also jugged dozens of Fatah followers in the town of Khan Younis in southern Gazoo Strip, and summoned 13 others in eastern Gazoo, it noted. Fatah's parliamentary bloc denounced the actions made by Hamas, Fatah said in its statement. "The attacks are serious against members of Fatah movement, including elected representatives," it added. Hamas bans activities in homage to the late leader, one of the founders of the Paleostine Liberation Organization (PLO). | |
