Report: Aoun Won't Participate in National Dialogue
2010-11-02
[An Nahar] Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
leader MP Michel Aoun, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah will not participate in the national dialogue session next Thursday, although this is not the first time he does not attend dialogue sessions, the Central News Agency reported Monday.

FPM sources attributed Aoun's refusal to participate to the "committee's inability to take any decision," and thus, the sources added, he sees no point in participating.

Sources added that the Change and Reform ministers will not "dedicate their resignation" from the government to anyone.

Aoun has warned that all possibilities would be on the table if Government fails to agree on the false witnesses' issue during the next cabinet session on Wednesday.

"If Cabinet fails, there will be no dialogue on Thursday," Aoun told OTV.

"The crisis is highly problematic and unless they remove the causes of discord they'd better not (engage) in talks," he added.

"Procrastination on the false witnesses' issue is not acceptable," Aoun warned.

"If the other (political) camp did not refer the false witnesses' issue to the Judicial Council this means they are involved in the false witnesses' issue."
