Military Manual For Court Martial Changed By Executive Order, But Not Released |
2010-09-04 |
President Obama signed an Executive Order promulgating the 2010 changes to the Manual for Courts-Martial on August 31, 2010. The covering document is on the White House website, but the text of the changes is still neither there nor on the Federal Register and DoD websites as of 10:45 a.m., Sept. 2, 2010. The amendments take effect on September 30, 2010. I can imagine why there might be some trepidation. |

#6 ..till the impeachment process begins. Notice here 101. (a) (2) is altered by Public Law to quote - "Repealed. Pub. L. 109–163, div. A, title X, § 1057(a)(1), Jan. 6, 2006, 119 Stat. 3440.]" Remember, they didn't get Capone on racketeering but on income tax. Never give your opponent an opening. |

#5 P2k, so what? Obama considers the Constitution to be a living document to be modified on the fly, at will. |

#4 That's nice, but.....Article I, Section 8, reads - The Congress shall have Power... To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces; One of the issues King Charles lost his head over whether he or Parliament had that power. The writers of the Constitution made sure that little issue was written into the document so that no 'misunderstanding' could occur again. |

#3 While I don't put Bambi past fucking anything up, I am wanting to wait to see before I pass judgment. A lot of the terminology needed changing with the new deployments and tactics so it may just be a simple update. However, knowing what Bambi's ego is like, I can see him putting his own "brand" on the changes and fucking shit up completely. |

#2 Before we speculate too much we should see what the changes are. I assume there's a procedure for doing this and the White House is following SOP. If not, then there's a problem. |

#1 King Obama. So the question remains, will the military brass protect the constitution or their careers? Seems like the boys may have to choose. |
