"Two children -- five and six years of age -- were killed after they tampered with a hand-grenade they found in the district of al-Riad," Brig. Sarhad Qader, the director of the Kirkuk Districts' Police Department (KDPD), told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. "The bodies of the two children were removed to a nearby hospital," he added. Also in Riad, a tribal feud broke out in the village of Qarha, (45 km) southwest of Kirkuk, leaving seven persons wounded, including two in a serious condition, Qader said. "The KDPD forces intervened and disengaged the clashing tribes and are still present in the village to investigate the incidents," he added. Qader did not reveal further details. | |
