2010-08-24 |
Google Translate. Translation note: The original report states the offices of the national attorney general was damaged, but my understanding is that the PGR does not keep offices in small towns. For a map, click here. Unidentified attackers threw two hand grenades at a Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon police station early Monday morning, according to Mexican press accounts. The attack took place at about 0400 hrs at the police station near the intersection of calles Niños Heroes and Juarez. The attackers threw a first grenade into the front glass window of the building which failed to detonate, then threw a second which did explode. Damage was limited to a nearby police patrol car and to offices of the Procuraduria General de Justicia del Estado, the Nuevo Leon state attorney general. No one was reported hurt in the attack. Sabinas Hidalgo is roughly halfway between Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo. |
