| 'Terrorists planning to target key officials in Islamabad' |

| [Dawn] Terrorists are planning to target judges, parliamentarians and top military officials in Islamabad, Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Kaleem Imam, told media representatives on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters outside the parliament, he said certain terrorist groups had been issuing death threats to police officials and other key figures in the government. "On the basis of intelligence information, security has been beefed up at sensitive locations in the federal capital," the IGP said. Moreover, efforts were underway to capture the accomplices of the terrorist who was killed in a police encounter in Islamabad's G/8 sector, he said. Imam further said that given the situation in the federal capital, the number of security check posts in the city could not be decreased. |
