Rewritten. A note: I could not find the information on the UNAMID website referring to this abduction.Two unidentified police advisors to the United Nations mission in Darfur, Sudan were reported abducted at gunpoint near Nyla, South Darfur Saturday morning, according to news reports.
Reports say the victims were on foot near a UNAMID transport dispatch point about 100 meters from their residence when they were accosted by three individuals aboard a four wheel drive vehicle.
The three were apparently abducted at gunpoint and were driven away, presumably aboard the vehicle.
The abduction is another in a series of attack on UN UNAMID elements in recent weeks. Last month, an ambush wounded seven peacekeepers. Another ambush in June killed three and wounded a fourth.
