| Peres heads to Egypt for talks with Mubarak |

| Israeli President Shimon Peres left for Cairo early on Sunday where he was to hold talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on the Middle East peace process, Peres’s spokeswoman said. “During the visit, the two will discuss the advancement of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians and different levels of cooperation between Israel and Egypt,” his office said in a statement. The meeting was initiated by the Egyptian leader, who invited Peres for talks followed by a working lunch, it said. The two men last met in November. |
