| One soldier, 26 Taliban killed in Orakzai |

| HANGU: At least 26 Taliban and a soldier were killed in a clash between security forces and the Taliban in Orakzai Agency, security officials told Daily Times on Monday. According to officials, six Taliban were killed and seven others injured in a clash with security forces in Shoti area of Upper Orakzai. Five security personnel were also injured in the clash. Separately, the officials said that dozens of Taliban attacked a security checkpost at Kharsha area in Lower Orakzai Agency, in which one soldier named Sajawal was killed and another injured. The forces retaliated, killing 20 Taliban and injuring another 10. Official sources said the forces were facing resistance while advancing towards Upper Orakzai Agency, adding that Upper Orakzai was a “hub of Taliban militants'. The sources said that during clashes in the past two days, about 85 Taliban had been killed and 80 injured, while one security personnel had been killed and 12 injured. |
