Obama: Al-Qaida would use nuke if it could
2010-04-12
Image deleted. Don't use that one; we don't need to be associated with the fringe. AoS.
Ay-Pee. Here's the teaser. Rest at link.
"The single biggest threat to U.S. security, both short-term, medium-term and long-term, would be the possibility of a terrorist organization obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama said. "This is something that could change the security landscape in this country and around the world for years to come."
So far so good. Even a crackhead could keep up.
"If there was ever a detonation in New York City, or London, or Johannesburg, the ramifications economically, politically and from a security perspective would be devastating," the president said.
Oblahblah being Oblahblah, I guess.
"We know that organizations like al-Qaida are in the process of trying to secure nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction, and would have no compunction at using them," Obama said.
But now that they know we are kinder and gentler, for sure they will now back off to name-calling.
The Nuclear Security Summit of more than 40 world leaders in Washington this week is aimed at securing "loose nuclear material," Obama said. He was holding one-on-one meetings Sunday with several of those leaders.
How 'bout keeping the stuff from getting loose in the first place. Better yet, keep the stuff from being made in the first place. I know a few good places to start.

But hey, if Obongo feels he is accomplishing something by essentially fiddling while Iran and NorK are busily popping out nukes, I guess I'll just have to be satisfied by waiting for that politically devastating thingy to come into play.

#11  "Obama: Al-Qaida would use nuke if it could"Duh? How many advisors did it take to come up with this conclusion?

#9  Its difficult to address the real terrorist threat if you are unwilling to define it.

Speaking of which.... has the U.N. ever defined what Terrorism is?

I know the Obumble administration has (as in: Tea Party == Terrorism) but I haven't heard that the U.N. ever has.

Results 1 - 10 of about 803,000 for nuclear weapon fiction books.

I wonder if he read them all.

#4  Oh, good grief. He's just now figuring out the real terrorist threat?

Its difficult to address the real terrorist threat if you are unwilling to define it. If you define these islamic terrorist threats as "man-made disaster threats," you are unlikely to do much about these threats. If the president is so afraid of being PC and ticking off and hurting the feelings of the muslims, he is going to be blind to islamic terrorist threats. And if he has islam in his own background, it is unlikely he is going to criticize that which he is. Further, if he thinks the real threat to America is the vast right wing conspiracy and the racists, he is unlikely to address islamic terrorism.

#2  Oh, good grief. He's just now figuring out the real terrorist threat? I hear all the pols are at a loss of what to do now that health care has been rammed down our throats--please, please don't outsource this to Pelosi, too!!!!She'll let Iran build them, NK sell them, but sanctions won't begin until 2020. Oh, wait, that is current policy already.

#1  Loose cannons = Iran, North, Korea, Pakistan. Difficult to deal with insanity from mad mullahs and NK. Pakistan is at risk because of shaky internal politics and AQ.
