| S Korean boat sinks in search for sunken warship |

| [Iran Press TV Latest] Nine people are presumed dead in South Korea after a fishing boat sank during the search for a sunken warship -- the second major maritime disaster in the country. According to Seoul officials, the boat appeared to have collided with a freighter on Saturday. South Korean coast guards have retrieved the bodies of two of the fishermen. The fishing vessel was assisting in the search for 46 missing crewmen of the naval ship that sank last week off a disputed border with North Korea. Meanwhile, divers have reportedly found the first remains from the 1,200-ton navy ship Cheonan that sank under mysterious circumstances. Shortly after the sinking, Seoul officials said they did not believe North Korea had fired on the ship. But later the South's defense minister said a sea mine could have caused the blast. The North has made no official comment about the incident. |
