#3 Stopping at Guam coming back from the Pacific, my dad watched the Navy dump dozens of brand new jeeps and trucks into the ocean. They couldn't believe it, but some officer told them it would cost too much to ship them home. Know anything about that, Joe? |

#2 Leave the HMMVs. We don't need them except for garrison/guard, and they should have enough. LSAA (Balad) is a fun place. Mortaritaville is what it was when ... Big PX and field hospital there, some good buildings there as well. Also the biggest busiest air base in the world (outside of Afghanistan that' ramped up now). Wonder what they'll do with that. |

#1 Boy, did they get the Army PR guys working overtime. The truth is that a mountain of stuff is going to be given to the Iraqis because it is a lot cheaper to do than taking it out of country. The trick is to get it to the part of the Iraqi military more interested in using it for something useful than stealing it to sell as scrap. |
