| Detroit Imam Autopsy Shows 21 GSW's -- Outrage Ensues |

| Dearborn —An autopsy released today found that Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah died from 21 bullet wounds during an FBI raid in October of a Dearborn warehouse. The autopsy, released at noon by Wayne County Medical Examiner Dr. Carl Schmidt, concluded the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner was homicide. The long-awaited autopsy comes amid calls for an independent investigation into the Oct. 28 shooting. FBI agents have said they were justified in shooting Abdulla because he had opened fire on the agents during a raid on a stolen-goods operation. An FBI dog was killed, prompting agents to return fire. Expect more huffing and puffing by community activists, anything to obscure the answer to the only important question, "Was the shooting justifiable?" If so, how many bullets were fired is not material, but IANAL. |

| #6 Please to note: the fact that Mr. Abdullah died of gunshot wounds does not mean he was murdered. Murder is an unlawful and deliberate killing. |

| #2 I didn't see a mention in the story, and I doubt any reporter asked a follow-up question, but I expect the FBI has long since determined how many shots were fired and missed. One interesting note and comment by the ME concerns the one shot to the back, and the ME not knowing how that happened. Clearly, the FBI at least had multiple agents on the scene, responding in unison, and likely as trained. No real discussion of the chain of events, but the dog's role is interesting. Doubt will see or hear much more of this, beyond where Rep. Conyers wants to lead the interested local constituents. Still, we can hope Mayor Bing and the local cops will comment at some point. |
