| 20 Taliban killed in Bajaur, SWA |

| Security forces killed 13 Taliban and injured two others in Bajaur Agency on Thursday, while troops killed seven more Taliban in the military offensive in South Waziristan. Fighter jets bombed Taliban hideouts in Gugray, Gatki, Supray and Swai in Mamoond tehsil, killing 10 Taliban -- including two foreigners -- and destroying five hideouts. In Charmang and Chinar areas of Nawagai tehsil, troops killed three Taliban and wounded two others, while four soldiers were also killed. Troops also arrested five Taliban following a clash in Chungazai area of Mamoond tehsil, while two Taliban were arrested from Khar. In South Waziristan, security forces "engaged and cleared a Taliban [hideout] ...near Kikrai" on the Jandola-Sararogha front, said an ISPR statement. "During the clash, seven Taliban were killed," said the ISPR, adding that troops also consolidated their positions around Tor Wam, and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The forces also gained control of positions around Marghaband, and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. They have started clearing compounds in Janata village, and found arms and ammunition. The forces are also consolidating their positions on the Razmak-Makeen front, and found the bodies of two Taliban in Imarkhel Zangi. Since October 17, some 30,000 troops have been waging a major assault against Taliban fighters hiding out in the formidable terrain of South Waziristan, which borders Afghanistan. Troops moved in from Makeen in South Waziristan, from Wana and Shakai towards Serwakai tehsil on their way to Kaniguram, and from Jandola to Spinkai Raghzai, Kotki and Sararogha. |
