Bosworth to Visit Seoul on Asian Tour |
2009-09-05 |
U.S. special representative for North Korea policy Stephen Bosworth will arrive in Seoul on Friday as part of a six-day visit to three East Asian countries. U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said Wednesday that the focus of this trip is to hold discussions with China, Japan and South Korea regarding ways to denuclearize Pyongyang under the six-party framework. Kelly said Bosworth will "discuss the role of bilateral talks with North Korea within the context of the six-party process." However he added that there are currently no plans for U.S. officials to visit the communist state. Bosworth visited Beijing on Thursday and will finish his trip in Tokyo on Tuesday. |
