British Pakistani jailed for life

Nabeel Khan strangled Dr Iffat Kamal, during an argument on December 10 last year in the Scottish city of Dundee. The pathologist died 10 days later in a city's hospital, where she had worked.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, Khan, 45, was ordered to spend at least 15 years behind bars before being eligible for release. Khan was described as 'compulsive gambler' who was driven to domestic violence after losing all his money on stock exchange speculations. The oldest of five children, Nabeeel Khan grew up in Lahore. His mother Nasim Yousaf served as Director of Education for the Rawalpindi region.
