| Mumtaz Bhutto arrested over newspaper office attack |

| Police on Saturday arrested former Sindh chief minister and Sindh National Front (SNF) Chairman Mumtaz Ali Bhutto for his alleged involvement in attacks on a Sindhi language newspaper's offices. Bhutto was arrested from his house in Mirpur Bhutto in district Larkana, and was later flown to Karachi via Sukkur. His son and SNF Vice-chairman Ameer Bux Bhutto condemned the arrest, calling it political victimisation. The SNF vice-chairman called for a strike in the province on Sunday. He was shifted to the custody of Karachi police. Police sources said Ayub Shar and Allah Wario Soomro, Bhutto's co-accused, were arrested from Sukkur airport. |
