Security reduced near Suu Kyi home: report |

Authorities in Burma are reported to have removed barbed wire barriers and reduced security around the the home of the detained democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. An official from her National League for Democracy party says the security around her house in the main city, Rangoon, was reduced this morning. But witnesses say the gate to her compound remains closed. Aung San Suu Kyi has been under detention for 13 of the past 19 years, and is only allowed sporadic visits from her doctor and lawyer. |
