(AKI) - A car bomb exploded in central Iraq on Wednesday, killing at least three people and injuring 30 others. "The explosive vehicle detonated near the shrine of Sayyed Mohammed in the Balad district, of southern Salah al-Din, leaving three civilians killed and 30 others injured," said Iraqi news agency Voices of Iraq, quoting security sources. Salah al-Din is a Sunni-dominated province north of Baghdad and the capital city is Tikrit. According to media reports, the number of casualties could rise, because at the time of the explosion, many pilgrims were paying a visit to the tomb of Imam Mohammed. |
