Afghanistan
2 Taliban bitten by US coalition dogs
2008-08-15
FILTHY INFIDEL BEASTS!
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- U.S. coalition dogs bit two fleeing suspected Taliban militants during an operation in eastern Afghanistan in which a total of eight insurgents were detained, the coalition said Friday. The raid Thursday in the Muslim country's Paktika province targeted a Taliban sub-commander wanted for kidnapping, killing Afghan soldiers and involvement in roadside attacks, it said. During the operation, "two militants attempted to flee and were pursued by coalition military working dogs," the coalition said in a statement.
Ripper! Killer! Fetch!
"Both militants received dog-bite injuries, one of which required treatment on scene by coalition medical personnel."
Good dog...
1st Lt. Nathan Perry, a coalition spokesman, would not say what kind of dogs were used in the raid, but said the troops will "use dogs when we need to." Perry did not know if the targeted Taliban sub-commander was among those detained and the statement did not specify.
Human Rights Watch will hear of this! I'll bet they weren't even wearing Islamobooties!
In Islamic tradition, dogs are shunned as unclean and dangerous.
Tell em that, since they've been bitten by dogs, now they're going to hell.

#13  On the other hand, dogs are easier to feed, care for and clean up after than pigs.
I do hope that we treat the war dogs better than we did in VietNam - when we left, most of them were put down.

#12  I raised pigs as a 4H project when I was in high school. I had a brood-sow that weighed in at about 450 pounds. She would do any trick a dog would, plus a few. I could get her to "attack" a scarecrow. I taught her to go to one area, specifically. NOBODY messed with me on my family's property. Usually, just the sight of seven feet of porker charging with a 10-inch mouth open was enough in itself. The military is really missing a bet, especially with the muslim avoidance of all things pork.

#10  How about a canine surge in Afghanistan? Might become a deterrent to Taliban and AQ recruitment eforts.

#9  Because tooth injuries are common in working dogs, they have now innovated titanium caps. It is really good to NOT get bitten by a dog with titanium caps.

#7  "Both militants received dog-bite injuries, one of which required treatment on scene by coalition medical personnel."
Only one required treatment? Bummer.

"dogs are shunned as unclean and dangerous"
I have no doubt that my dog is cleaner than at least 99.9% of all Taliban militants.

#4  The dogs will have to lick their butt for days to get that taste out of their mouths.

#3  Missing a bet here. Pigs are smarter than dogs, can be trained and are known for biting... just sayin'.....

#2  Hope the dogs don't get rabies or distemper, either.
