Three persons, including a woman and her nephew, were killed in crossfire between the security forces and militants in the Kabal tehsil of Swat, sources said on Thursday. The sources said that Taliban militants killed a man, Umer Ali, on the charge of spreading propaganda against the Taliban in the Kabal Bazaar. Ali's body was found by the roadside. Meanwhile, security forces pounded militants' hideouts in the Minglor, Seetilegram, Bashbanr and Taghwan areas but no causalities were reported. Curfew was observed in Swat district from Wednesday night till Thursday morning. No official Independence Day ceremony was held in the district due to the military operation in the area.
