Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Friday said the resistance is strictly "the army and the state." Geagea said the "military parade we witnessed today at the military academy on Army Day represents us. The army is the resistance and the state is the resistance." He was apparently rejecting the concept that Hizbullah's armed wing, the Islamic Resistance, represents Lebanon's resisting body. "Real salvation goes through the creation of state institutions, topped by the military establishment," Geagea concluded. The "solution is for the Lebanese army and security forces to shoulder their responsibilities in defending the nations and safeguarding security of citizens," Geagea concluded.
