2008-05-27 |
The Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) has announced to set Islamic Shari'a administration in Kamsuma, Jilib and Jamaame districts in Middle and Lower Jubba regions southern Somalia, after capturing them few days ago. UIC fighters are holding talks with traditional elders and intellectuals in these areas, in order to sway them to throw out the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia TFG's administration and join UIC. Abdirahman Abdullahi Weheliye, the commander of UIC fighters in these regions, confirmed that the talks were about to be finalized. He stressed that he is optimistic that the traditional leaders would accept their (UIC) suggestion of establishing an administration based on Islamic Shari'a in the area. |
