Law and order in NWFP not exemplary, says Info minister
2008-05-09
The security situation in NWFP has improved but cannot be called ‘exemplary,’ Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Thursday.
Sometimes they say stuff like that and I blow whatever I'm eating or drinking right out my nose. I've taken to eating soft tacos. The hard ones are too painful when reading Pak press releases.
“We shall request special co-operation from the central government to ensure security during the by-polls,” he said. Asked about the NWFP government’s request the Election Commission postpone by-elections, Hussain said it was done at the behest of the federal government.

On establishing peace in Malakand, he said the government was ready for talks with all elements interested in establishing peace. “Once we are sure there would be no violence, we shall also call for army’s withdrawal from Swat as demanded by the other side,” he added.
