Orcs hit a civilian heli in Kunar |
2008-05-07 |
Rebels' attack on a civilian helicopter in eastern Afghanistan has left no casualties but forced the chopper to make an emergency landing. No one was injured in the incident in Kunar province, which borders Pakistan, NATO's International Security Assistance Force, ISAF, said on Monday. ISAF statement said the helicopter made a landing at an ISAF base, in central Kunar, after taking machine gunfire from an unknown number of militants. "The aircrew inspected the aircraft and found one bullet hole that did minor damage to the helicopter," the statement added. The military was not available to provide further information. Militants have hit several military helicopters in the past. In an attack on a Chinook helicopter in June 2005, 16 US soldiers were killed. |
