Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibility for the suicide attack which targeted a police station in Thenia, eastern Algeria killing three people and wounding many others on Tuesday. According to a statement on a website routinely used by Al-Qaeda, the suicide bomber is called Hamza Abu Abderrahmane. “On January 29 2008 at 6:30 a.m, he drove a vehicle laden with at least 650 kilograms of explosives,” said the statement.
