Re the pic: "I'm thinkin' but nuttin's comin' out!"
President Pervez Musharraf Thursday ruled out the involvement of security forces or intelligence agencies in the assassination of Ms Benazir Bhutto, however, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the investigation conducted so far.

Talking to foreign media here at “Aiwan-e-Sadr Se” programme, the President insisted there had been no security lapse when Ms Bhutto was killed at the campaign rally last Thursday.

President Musharraf said Bhutto had gone ahead with the rally while "ignoring the threats." He said she was provided with adequate security, including a bulletproof rostrum and a police chief of her choice for the area. Two aides next to her in the car survived, he said, adding that she died only when she "(decided) to ride above the sunroof" of her vehicle.

He said the law and order situation was rapidly affected across the country following the tragic incident of Benazir BhuttoÂ’s slaying. Sindh province was affected the most, he added. The violent reaction by the people was natural but, he said, no one would be allowed to disturb law and order.

Regarding the upcoming polls, the President said the elections will be free, fair, transparent and peaceful. “No one will get a chance to rig the polls…foreign observers will be allowed to come to the country and monitor the elections…there will be no ghost polling stations,” he said.
