Algerian army troops aborted a terrorist attack on a security center at Ekern in Tizi Ouzou State, 110 km eastern Algiers. An Algerian security source said the army had foiled an attempt by a 10-member terrorist group to plant explosives at the security center. Both explosives were defused and the troops combed the site in order to hunt the terrorists, the source said.In August, the same security center came under a terrorist attack that left one person dead and another injured.
The Al-Qaeda Organisation in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.
