#4 agreed, to all our midwestern RBer's: stay safe and warm. A whole-house gen is a good idea for more than the cold midwest - that along with a cistern's-worth of drinking water will save your ass in an earthquake |

#3 Y'all stay safe and warm over there, and check in when you can. Icerigger, my in-laws got one of those, too. |

#2 The wife wonders why I insist on a whole house generator. |

#1 The Kansas National Guard was asked to supply generators to several locations, including sewer treatment systems and two nursing homes, said Sharon Watson, Kansas Emergency Management spokeswoman. But, but, I thought that there wasn't a KANG?! We seem to be doing fine out in this neck of the plains, though we didn't get it as bad as a lot of other places. Got to spend the night with possible attic fires and downed power lines - after last year's ice storm people seem to be even better than prepared. |
