Monkey hurts 25 in East Delhi

NEW DELHI: A lone monkey let loose a nightmare for the residents of Shastri Park in east Delhi on Saturday, attacking and injuring at least 25 people through the night and fleeing in the early hours of Sunday.

The rampage comes less than a month after deputy mayor S S Bajwa died after fending off a monkey attack at his residence.
"Look out, yer deputy honor! He's got a knife!"
The attack on Saturday began around 7pm and continued late into the night. Several of those bitten or injured were children below five years of age, some of whom the monkey tried to drag away, eyewitnesses said. Most of those injured were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital but residents complained that help wasnÂ’t forthcoming.
