Al-Jizz: 'USAF struck Syrian nuclear site'
2007-11-02
Hee hee. I wish/hope it is true. But the Israelis are perfectly capable of pulling this one off, and probably better suited.

JP has the goods at link! :-)

#16  OTOH, PRESSTV's + ASIA TIMES, etc. "ANY ATTACK ON IRAN IS AN ATTACK ON RUSSIA" artiiickles didn't say anything about Russia coming to Syria's aid, or Russia militarily responding on Syria's behalf. IOW, AS PER SYRIAN-IRAN "ALLIANCE", IRAN THUS FAR IS THE ONE GETTING ALL THE "ALLIANCE" BENEFIT/GOODIES - NO CANDY FOR SYRIA, AGAIN.

*AFRICANCRISIS > Syria's PRO-SOVIET/SOVIET-STYLE Govt making [collusory]Parliamentary overtures to INDONESIA. Syria = Iran = Iran moving into East-Asia + South Pacific areas???

#15  It's traditional for Arabs to say that every past Israeli victory was in fact carried out by Americans. Since Arabs couldn't possibly be defeated by mere Jews. This is just another of their pathetic fantasies reiterating Arab superiority relative to Jews.

#14  I like 'Moose's scenario. I sure wish it went that way. So how does Christopher Robin Hill out at State feel about his Norks caught mucking about in the Syrian desert, BTW? Can he still keep negotiating with these fellows?

#13  This goes to my idea that, while a non-nuclear weapon was used, it might have been dropped by a US stealth bomber from Iraq while the Syrian radar was lit up and pointing in a different direction.

For their part, the Israelis would have gotten a butt load of intel about Syria's radar defenses, but with their high performance aircraft that are much less likely to be hit by a Russian missile, and yet can't carry too big a bomb.

So the US wins, Israel wins, Syria-Nork-Iran lose.

If it didn't happen that way, then it should have.

#12  Should they actually acquire nuclear bombs, they will try to use them. Skinless people in a sandpaper world need await no new justification for doing what they intended all along. Unlike us, they feel no need to restrain themselves to equality of effort.

#11  I can't find anything even remotely related to this on the al-Jazeerz English language website. I hope it's true but it's most likely another load of internet BS.

#10  A claim such as this can easily boomerang agz the entire ME, espec as "justification" for [ANTI-US]INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTIONISM + ADVANC WMDS/ARMS TRANSFERS. Example - HAARETZ today reports that Hezbollah has TRIPLED ITS LAND-TO-SEA MISSLE ARSENALS, ala C-802 SILKWORMS. The Hezzies = Hizzies = Huzzies = Hessies, etal. do not appear to had wavered in dev their own armed, AUTONOMOUS/SOVEREIGN? enclaves widin Lebanon???

#6  Soon to be circulated as fact by the Usual Suspects; has anyone checked daily kos or rense.com yet?

#5  The Web site quoted Israeli and Arab sources as saying that two US jets armed with tactical nuclear weapons carried out an attack on a suspected nuclear site under construction.

While I continue to oppose any first-use of nuclear weapons by America in the MME (Muslim Middle East), neither will I feel overly inclined to condemn such a thing should it happen.

We most definitely want the Arab world to believe in our willingness regarding use of nuclear weapons. However, I remain concerned that this rumor might also be construed by Muslims as sufficient justification for a terrorist nuclear strike against America.

Most deeply cynical of all is the otherwise appealing notion that—by this rumor's encouragment of an unjustified "retaliatory" nuclear terrorist attack against America—we might then proceed to solve the niggling issue of Islamic predation in a rather abrupt and definitive manner.

#3  Wow, two tactical nukes even.

I hope the arabs believe it.

#2  I am waiting for the Nuclear Green Shocked Glass to appear on E-bay. If it doesn't I don't believe it.
