 A man was killed late on Tuesday while attempting to plant a bomb near Nishat Chowk in Mingora police station precincts, Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Iqbal told Daily Times.

The DPO said police had taken the body into custody and had started investigations.

The women were allegedly taken hostage after their family rejected the kidnappers’ matrimonial proposals.
