Pakistan govt to grant amnesty to Bhutto
2007-10-03
ISLAMABAD - PakistanÂ’s government will grant an amnesty to Benazir Bhutto on corruption charges, meeting one of the former premierÂ’s main demands for a power-sharing deal, a cabinet minister told AFP on Tuesday. Bhutto has been living in self-exile in London and Dubai since 1999 because of the charges against her, which she says are politically motivated.

“The government has agreed to grant an amnesty on cases against Benazir Bhutto,” said Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid, a close confidant of President Pervez Musharraf. “The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.”

#1  Democracy is always about choosing the lesser of two evils. (Tyranny is the worse of two evils choosing for you.)
